On 29-th November 2004 the Romanian Parliament has enacted Law 550 on the organization and functioning of the Romanian Gendarmerie.
Gendarme Inspectorate of Constanta County is organized on military principles and directly subordinated to General Inspectorate of the Romanian Gendarmerie, exercises its attributions on protection of public order and safety, citizens' rights and fundamental liberties, public and private property, crime prevention and detection and other infringements of laws into force, as well as protection of State's fundamental institutions and countering of terrorist acts in the area of Constanta county.Execute
